Visa information
A visa for Zambia is generally required except for citizens of the following countries listed in the table above, among others: [1] Citizens of Ireland (Rep.), Malta, Romania and Cyprus are required for tourist stays of up to 90 days and for a business stay of up to 30 days no visa). E-Visa: Apply at evisa.zambiaimmigration.gov.zm/#/. After approval, the applicant receives a confirmation that must be presented upon entry to receive the actual visa. Visa fees are due in US$ at the border. Citizens of the following countries listed in the table above may apply for an e-Visa: (a) Germany, Austria and all other EU countries (exception: Bulgaria, Ireland (Rep.), Malta, Romania and Cyprus); (b) Switzerland; (c) Turkey. Visa upon entry It is generally possible to obtain a visa upon entry. Confirmed return or onward travel tickets, a passport that is still valid for at least 6 months beyond the stay and the visa fees in cash must be presented. However, some airlines insist on a pre-arranged visa. Citizens of the following countries listed in the table above can apply for a visa on arrival: (a) Germany, Austria and all other EU countries (exception: Bulgaria, Ireland (Rep.), Malta, Romania and Cyprus) ; (b) Switzerland; (c) Turkey. KAZA Visa The joint KAZA visa for Zambia and Zimbabwe is valid for up to 30 days. It can be applied for by citizens of the following countries listed in the table above upon arrival at Harry Mwanga Nkumbula Airport, Kenneth Kaunda Airport and at the Victoria Falls and Kazungula border crossings: (a) Germany, Austria and all other EU countries ( Exception: Bulgaria, Ireland (Rep.), Malta, Romania and Cyprus); (b) Switzerland; (c) Turkey. Costs
Visa upon arrival: US$50 in cash (single entry), US$80 in cash (double entry), US$150 (multiple entries, can only be requested after arrival at the immigration office). Some airlines require a visa before departure. Day Tripper Visa: US$ 20 (valid for 24 hours). Transit visa: US$50. KAZA Visa: US$50. Note: A multiple-entry visa is not available at the airport upon arrival. However, a multiple-entry visa can be applied for at the local immigration office. The costs for the visa must be paid in cash and in US$ if it is applied for directly upon arrival. Germany, Austria tourist visa and business visa at the embassy: €48 (single visa, 3 months); €78 (multiple visa, 6 months); Switzerland tourist visa and business visa 55 CHF (single visa, 3 months); 85 CHF (double visa, 6 months).
Visa types and costs
Tourist, Business, Visit and Transit Visa. The visa is free for children. The Day Tripper Visa is issued for day trips from Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) to Livingstone (Zambia).
Validity
Germany: Single visa 3 months from issue, double visa/multiple visa 6 months from issue. The length of stay is determined by the immigration authorities at the border (usually 30 days). Day visa: 24 hours. Transit visa: 7 days. KAZA visa: 30 days.
Transit
Otherwise, transit travelers who require a visa and who travel on within 24 hours, have valid documents for the onward journey including seat reservation and do not leave the transit area do not require a visa. Attention: Transit facilitation does not apply to nationals of some African and Asian countries. In person or by post at the consulate or at the consular department of the embassy (see contact addresses). The visa can also be applied for when entering Zambia. Application required
Entry visa: (a) 2 application forms (downloadable from the website of the relevant diplomatic mission). (b) 2 passport photos. (c) Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond stay and with two blank pages side by side. (d) Fee (by bank transfer with receipt). (e) Return or Onward Ticket. (f) Letter of Invitation and Citizenship of Host. Business visa additionally: (f) Company letter stating the purpose and duration of the trip and confirmation of the assumption of costs/letter of invitation. A stamped, registered return envelope must be enclosed with the application.

Processing time
Approximately 2 weeks from receipt of the visa fee. e-Visa: 3 business days.
Proof of sufficient funds
Foreigners must have sufficient funds.

Entry with children
German: Machine-readable children’s passport up to the age of 12 or your own passport. Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: The same visa requirements apply to children as to their parents. Since June 27, 2012, children need their own travel document (passport / children’s passport) for trips abroad (also within the EU). Entries of children in the parental passport are no longer possible.
Exit permit
When departing by air, an airport tax of US$ 25 applies if not already included in the air fare. The airport tax for domestic flights is US$8.
