Zakynthos is a popular holiday destination. There are several seaside resorts and tourist towns. Especially the city of Laganas is known as “place to be” for tourists because of the many souvenir shops, restaurants and bars. The landscape is mountainous with lots of greenery. The coastline is mostly determined by steep rock walls with beautiful bays. Zakynthos is also known for its Caretta Caretta turtles and good surfing conditions.
