Yeshiva University was founded in 1886 by Rabbi Dr. Bernard Revel, a prominent Jewish leader and scholar. Originally, Yeshiva University was established as a small religious school for Jewish boys in Manhattan, New York. As the school grew, it began to offer more academic courses and began to attract students from all over the world. In 1915, Yeshiva College was created as an affiliate of the university with a focus on academic learning and research. This marked the beginning of Yeshiva University becoming one of the top educational institutions in the world. Over the next few decades, Yeshiva University continued to expand its offerings, adding new programs and departments. By 1940, it had become a major research university with an international reputation for excellence in both academics and research. In 1945, Yeshiva College became part of the larger university structure and offered graduate degrees for the first time. Today, Yeshiva University is an internationally-recognized institution with more than 20 schools offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in various fields ranging from medicine to law to business administration. Additionally, it has campuses located throughout Israel as well as New York City making it a truly global institution that offers students around the world unique opportunities for learning and growth.
