Visa requirements change frequently, up-to-date information from the responsible consular representation. Identification is required in Venezuela. The passport must be able to be presented at any time.
Visa information
Attention: International air traffic is initially suspended until mid-April, the entire country has been affected by quarantine measures since March 17, 2020. A visa is generally required, except for nationals of the following countries listed in the table above, who can enter with a tourist card DEX-2 (Tarjeta de Ingreso) for a maximum tourist stay of 90 days (non-renewable): EU countries, Switzerland and Turkey. The tourist card is valid for entry by plane and cruise ships. The tourist card cannot be used when entering the country with private yachts; in this case a visa is required. Tourist cards are available from authorized airlines and cruise lines and must be returned upon departure. The consular representations provide further information.

Note on the visa
A visa is required for travelers to Venezuela who arrive by private means of transport (e.g. sailing yacht).
Cost
Germany, Austria and Switzerland Prices are based on daily exchange rates. The visa fees apply to nationals who require a visa and have a valid residence permit for Germany, Austria or Switzerland. Tourist and transit visa: €27.50 and CHF33 respectively. Business visa: 54.50 € or 66 CHF. Note: The visa fees can change at short notice, current information from the responsible consular representations (see contact addresses).

Validity
Tourist visa and business visa (multiple entry and exit possible, must be noted in the application): up to 1 year, maximum length of stay 90 days per entry (however, the border official decides on the approved length of stay in individual cases). Can be extended for a further 90 days before the end of the 90-day period on site at the Ministry of Interior and Justice. Transit visa: 72 hours stay (for return flights via Venezuela: two transits, each up to 72 hours). Tourist Card: Valid for 90 days, not renewable.
Transit
Travelers who otherwise require a visa, who fly on with the next connection within 24 hours, who have valid documents for the onward journey and who do not leave the transit area, do not need a visa. Personally at the responsible consular representation (see contact addresses).
Application required

Usually 1-2 weeks. Different depending on nationality, please ask when applying for a visa. Express processing in Frankfurt currently takes 3-5 days.

Foreigners must have sufficient funds for their stay.
Legally Required Registration
Travelers requiring a visa must register with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dirección de Extranjería. Exceptions are travelers with transit visas and tourist card holders.
Documents required upon entry
It is recommended to carry copies of international health and baggage insurance policies when entering and exiting Venezuela.
Entry with children
Germans: Children’s passport or your own passport (also recommended for children under 16 years of age). Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: The same visa requirements apply to children as to their parents. Attention: When minors leave the country, an international birth certificate is often required. In addition, minors traveling alone need a certified travel permit in Spanish from their parents or legal guardians. If one parent wants to leave Venezuela alone with one or more children, a certified declaration of consent from the other parent who has joint custody must be submitted – in Spanish. If the parent who is not traveling with you lives abroad, the certificate must be authenticated by the responsible Venezuelan diplomatic mission. Entry with pets
Anyone wishing to enter Venezuela with a pet must present the animal’s international vaccination certificate (against rabies and dogs against canine distemper), signed and stamped by an official veterinarian and signed by the consular section of the Venezuelan embassy or consulate, in whose jurisdiction the applicant lives must be certified. A veterinary examination will take place upon arrival, which must be notified 24 hours in advance. The resulting health certificate is subject to a fee.
