It offered a two-year course of study that prepared students to become teachers in rural schools. The curriculum also included science, literature, and mathematics. In 1927, the school changed its name to River Falls State Teachers College and began offering a four-year course of study leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in education. In 1951, it became part of the University of Wisconsin System and was renamed University of Wisconsin at River Falls (UWRF). It began offering more advanced degrees such as Master’s degrees in fields such as education and business management. Today, UWRF offers over seventy undergraduate programs along with more than twenty graduate programs for students seeking higher education opportunities.
