University of West Florida Acceptance Rate, Average GPA, SAT and ACT Scores

The University of West Florida was founded in 1963, just after the Florida Legislature passed a bill authorizing the establishment of two new universities in the state. The university was originally established as a junior college and offered two-year degrees in arts and sciences. In 1965, the first four-year degrees were offered, and the school officially became a four-year institution. Since then, the university has grown to offer over fifty undergraduate degree programs and more than twenty graduate degree programs. Throughout its history, UWF has always been dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and service to its students.

UWF has also always been committed to creating an environment that is welcoming for all students regardless of race, gender or religious beliefs. The university was one of the first universities in Florida to implement a policy prohibiting discrimination based on race or gender in admissions and employment decisions. Additionally, UWF supports several student organizations that promote diversity on campus including Black Student Union (BSU), Hispanic Student Association (HSA), International Student Organization (ISO) and Gay Straight Alliance (GSA). These organizations provide support for minority students through mentorship programs and social activities while also promoting cultural awareness on campus. The university also provides scholarships specifically for minority students as well as other services such as cultural centers and housing accommodations for international students. Check Ehuzhou for a list of GMAT test centers in Minnesota.
