The University of Missouri at St. Louis (UMSL) was founded in 1963 as a four-year public university. It began with just over 1,000 students and has since grown to an enrollment of more than 16,000. UMSL is now part of the four-campus University of Missouri system, which includes the flagship campus in Columbia, MO and two other campuses in Kansas City and Rolla.
