The University of Minnesota at Morris (UMM) was founded in 1960 as an experiment in higher education, with a focus on liberal arts and sciences. It was the first public, coeducational, residential liberal arts college in Minnesota. UMM was also the first college in the state to be racially integrated and admitted students of all religions.
