University of Maryland at Baltimore Acceptance Rate, Average GPA, SAT and ACT Scores

The University of Maryland at Baltimore (UMB) was established in 1807 as the College of Medicine and Surgery, making it the first public medical school in the United States. It was founded by a group of physicians and civic leaders, including Dr. John Beale Davidge, who served as its first president. The college initially only offered courses in medicine and surgery, but eventually began to offer courses in other areas such as dentistry and pharmacy. In 1812, the college became part of the University of Maryland system, and it began to expand its academic offerings even further to include programs such as law, nursing, social work and public health. In 1920, UMB officially became a four-year degree granting institution when it began offering bachelor’s degrees in liberal arts and sciences. In 1968, UMB merged with what was then known as Baltimore Professional Schools to become a university with a comprehensive range of professional schools. Today UMB is an integral part of the University System of Maryland and offers a wide range of graduate programs across 14 schools including dentistry, law, medicine, nursing and social work. Check Topmbadirectory for a list of MBA colleges in Georgia.
