In 1965, the college was renamed the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) and became part of the University of Maine System. This change opened up additional academic opportunities for students and allowed them to pursue bachelor’s degrees in areas such as business administration, education, health professions and science. In addition, UMPI began offering graduate programs in 1968 with its first master’s degree program in Education Administration.┬áCheck top-engineering-schools for a list of engineering schools in Oregon.
