The University of California at Los Angeles is one of the most prestigious universities in the world, and its admission statistics reflect its status as a top-tier school. In 2018, UCLA received over 111,000 applications for admission and accepted just over 17,000 students. This means that the acceptance rate was 15.1%. Of those admitted students, 32% were first-generation college students and the average GPA was 3.9. The middle 50% range for SAT scores was 1310-1500 and for ACT scores was 28-34. UCLA also had a strong international presence with more than 4,400 international students from more than 100 countries enrolled in 2018. Furthermore, UCLA’s student body is incredibly diverse with 45% of undergraduates identifying as Asian American/Pacific Islander, 29% Hispanic/Latino, 14% White/Caucasian and 2% African American/Black.
