Applying to universities in China

There are several factors to consider when choosing a university. Most Chinese universities offer education in 13 basic specialties: philosophy, economics, law, mathematics, pedagogy, history, literature, natural sciences, engineering, medicine, agronomy, management, military affairs.

Structure of educational programs

The structure of Chinese universities includes three stages. The first stage of study lasts 4-5 years and ends with the award of a bachelor’s degree. An applicant 18-25 years old who graduated from high school can enter it. This is followed by a master’s degree, which involves 2-3 years of study, you can enter this program up to 40 years.

After receiving a master’s degree, it is possible to continue studies for another 3 years to obtain a Ph.D. At the same time, it is necessary to pass state exams in basic subjects and write a research paper.

At universities in China, teaching is conducted in Chinese. Therefore, to enter a university, you need to confirm the level of language proficiency – get the certificate of The Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK). This applies to all study programs with the exception of those where instruction is given in English.
