Travelers should carry their passport or a copy of their passport with them at all times during their stay.
Visa information
Generally required, except for nationals of the following countries in the table above for stays of up to 6 months, among others: [1] Ireland (Rep.), Malta and Cyprus. Visa on arrival with pre-arranged e-Visa A 3-month single-entry visa for a maximum stay of 30 days is available at various border crossings and at Entebbe Airport for around US$50. For the visa to be issued at the airport, the printout of the previously obtained electronic “Entry Permit” must be presented at https://visas.immigration.go.ug.

Note on the visa
Since the beginning of 2014 there has been a common visa for Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda, the East Africa Visa (EAC). This common visa is issued upon arrival at airports in Kenya. It allows multiple entries and costs 100 US$ / 100 CHF. It is recommended to apply for this visa prior to travel from the consular provider Bridge Corporation or from the responsible Kenyan consular post. In the past, when applying for a visa at the airport, there were often long waiting times and difficulties because payment of the visa fee was often only accepted in US dollars.
Costs
Germany, Austria tourist visa, business visa: 50 US$ (single entry, valid for 3 months) plus 35 € provider fee. 100 US$ (multiple entries during 6-12 months) plus 35 € provider fee. 150 US$ (multiple entries during 12-24 months) plus 35 € provider fee. 250 US$ (multiple entries during 24-36 months) plus 35 € provider fee. East Africa Visa (EAC): US$100. In the case of express issuance, a surcharge of €50 will be added to the visa fee. Switzerland visitor visa: 50 CHF (single entry, stay up to 3 months). 120 CHF (multiple entries, stay up to 6 months). East Africa Visa (EAC): 100 US$/ 100 CHF. Visa on arrival: Single-entry visas can be issued at Entebbe Airport and various border crossing points upon request, with a fee of US$50. However, it is expressly recommended to obtain the visa before the trip.

Transit
Otherwise transit travelers requiring a visa who fly on within 24 hours, do not leave the transit area and have valid documents for the onward journey do not require a transit visa. Applying for an e-Visa online and obtaining a barcode is mandatory. The printout of the electronic “Entry Permit” must be presented to the relevant diplomatic mission or visa provider. Germany and Austria: The application for a tourist or business visa must be made via the consular provider Bridge-Corporation or, for Austrian applicants, at the Consulate General in Vienna. The East Africa visa can also be applied for at the provider. Switzerland: Personally or by post to the responsible consular representation (see contact addresses). Swiss nationals can also apply for a visa at the Ugandan Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva (Internet: www.ugandamission.ch).
Application required
Tourists: (a) Application form and barcode (www.visas.immigration.go.ug). (b) Passport Photographs. (c) Scanned passport that is valid for at least three months upon departure and contains at least two blank pages. (d) Fee (by personal check or by bank transfer with proof of payment to the Ugandan Embassy in Switzerland. Applicants in Germany and Austria pay the visa fees online). (e) Proof of vaccination against yellow fever with lifelong immunization. (f) If applicable, residence permit for Germany, Austria or Switzerland. Business visa additionally: (f) Invitation from the company in Uganda and cover letter from your own company.

Processing time
7 days in Germany, 2-3 working days in Austria, 1 day in Switzerland (Geneva). An express issue is possible in Germany in individual cases within 3-4 days. However, same-day processing is not possible.
Proof of sufficient funds
Foreigners must have sufficient funds.
Documents required upon entry
Health form to be completed upon entry. The form is intended to detect travelers who have contracted Ebola.
Entry with children
German: Children’s passport with a photograph attached using a raster device, or your own passport. Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: The same visa regulations apply to children as to their parents. Since June 27, 2012, children need their own travel document (passport / children’s passport) to travel abroad (also within the EU). Entries of children in the parental passport are no longer possible.
