Tufts University Acceptance Rate, Average GPA, SAT and ACT Scores

Tufts University was founded in 1852 as Tufts College by Christian Universalists who sought to provide a non-sectarian education. The college was originally located in Boston, but relocated to the Medford and Somerville area in 1872. Throughout its history, Tufts has maintained a commitment to liberal arts and sciences education, and this is reflected in the university’s current offerings. In addition to its founding focus on liberal arts and sciences, Tufts has also grown to offer professional and graduate education programs across a variety of disciplines. In 1952, the university received its charter from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, officially becoming Tufts University.

Since then, Tufts has continued to expand its academic offerings as well as its physical infrastructure. In 1994, the university acquired the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy from Harvard University which further expanded the university’s professional offerings. Over the past two decades, Tufts has also added numerous new buildings such as dorms, classrooms, research centers and performance venues across all three campuses. In recent years, Tufts has also increased its commitment to sustainability by investing in renewable energy sources such as solar power and wind energy. The university is also home to several sustainability-focused research centers such as the Institute for Global Leadership which focuses on global environmental issues. Check topschoolsoflaw for a list of law schools in Georgia.
