Passport information
Generally required, must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the stay.
Visa information
Attention: For Trinidad and Tobago there is an entry ban for travelers from countries particularly affected by COVID-19 (including Germany). A visa is generally required except for citizens of the following countries listed in the table above, when traveling as tourists, for stays of up to 90 days in any 180 day period: (a) EU countries and Switzerland; (b) Turkey.

Costs
Germany (application to the High Commission of Trinidad & Tobago in London) Tourist and business visa: £18 (single entry); £36 (multiple entry). The visa fees apply to nationals who require a visa and have a valid residence permit for Germany. Austria, Switzerland tourist and business visa: 40 CHF. The visa fees apply to nationals who require a visa and have a valid residence permit for Austria or Switzerland. There are also postal fees of CHF 6 (applications within Switzerland) and CHF 12 (applications from Germany and Austria).

Validity

Application required
(a) 2 application forms. (b) 2 recent passport photos. (c) Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the stay. (d) Fee (cash or personal check upon application). (e) Proof of a return or onward ticket. (f) Proof of Hotel Reservation or Invitation. (g) If applicable, residence permit for Germany, Austria or Switzerland. (h) Itinerary. (i) Business Visa: Company letter. (j) Stamped and registered return envelope.

Processing time
Varies depending on applicant’s nationality, generally at least 14 days.
Proof of sufficient funds
Upon entry, a ticket for the return or onward journey and sufficient funds for the duration of the stay must be presented.
Entry with children
German: Machine-readable children’s passport or your own passport (Note: When traveling to and from the USA, only your own passport entitles you to transit without a visa with ESTA approval. A visa is required for transit with a children’s passport.). Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: The same visa requirements apply to children as to their parents. Note: Unaccompanied minors should carry an officially certified declaration of consent from the legal guardian. Since June 27, 2012, children need their own travel document (passport / children’s passport) for trips abroad (also within the EU).
Entry with pets
Pets must be quarantined for at least 6 months. Exceptions are dogs and cats coming directly from Anguilla, Antigua, Barbados, Great Britain, Ireland (Rep.), Jamaica, St. Kitts-Nevis or St. Vincent. All pets from all countries must apply for an import permit with the Director of Agriculture, St. Clair in Trinidad prior to departure. In addition, an official health certificate and a rabies vaccination certificate must be available. The airline must announce the transport at least 24 hours before arrival. It is advisable to ask the responsible consular representation about the import regulations in individual cases (see contact addresses).
