Visa information

A visa for Togo is required for nationals of the countries listed in the table above (exception: [1] Romania (source: Embassy of Togo in London)). Note: Despite the possibility of obtaining a visa on arrival, it is strongly advised to obtain a visa in advance, as visa issuance can be lengthy and various airlines insist on a pre-departure visa. Costs

Germany, Austria entry visa: 30 € (stay up to 30 days, single or multiple entries); Entry visa: €50 (stay up to 90 days, single or multiple entry). Business visa €30 (stay up to 30 days, multiple entries); €50 (stay from 30 to 90 days, express issuance, multiple entries); €50 (stay up to 3 months, multiple entries); Express issuance: visa fee + €20. Visa on arrival: 10,000 FCFA (stay up to 7 days) Switzerland visa: 70 CHF (stay up to 30 days, single entry; 90 CHF (stay up to 60 days, single or multiple entry); 110 CHF (stay up to up to 90 days, single or multiple entry).

Tourist, business visa.

Validity

Entry visas are issued for either 1 or 3 months. Visa on arrival: length of stay 7 days.

Transit

Otherwise, transit travelers who require a visa and who fly on with the next plane within 24 hours and do not leave the transit area do not require a transit visa. In person or by post at the embassy or consular representation (see contact addresses).

Application required

Entry visa: (a) 1 application form (downloadable from the website of the responsible diplomatic mission). (b) 2-3 passport photos. (c) Passport that is valid for more than 6 months at the time of departure and contains at least one blank page. (d) Fee (when applying in cash or by personal cheque/wire transfer with proof of payment, depending on the consulate). (e) Hotel Reservation or Invitation. (f) If applicable, residence permit for Germany, Austria or Switzerland. Business visa additionally: (g) Company letter. A stamped, registered return envelope must be enclosed with the application. Documents for a visa upon entry (a) 3 passport photos (b) Passport that is still valid for at least 6 months upon entry. (c) Return or Onward Ticket. (d) Proof of yellow fever vaccination. (e) Fee (CFA Fr 10,000 in cash, equivalent to approx. €15) Note: Obtaining a visa in advance is strongly recommended.

Temporary Residence

Applications must be submitted to the Immigration Office in Lomé.

Processing time

Approx. 4 days to 1 week. Express issue: 2 days.

Documents required upon entry

Proof of valid yellow fever vaccination.

Extension of stay

The visa applied for upon entry, which allows a stay of up to 7 days, can be extended to a total of 30 days at the passport authority Direction générale de la documentationnationale – DGDN. However, there is a risk that it may take longer than 7 days to apply for the extension. Anyone who exceeds the validity period of their visa must expect penalties.

Entry with children

German: Machine-readable children’s passport or your own passport. Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: The same visa regulations apply to children as to their parents. Since June 27, 2012, children need their own travel document (passport / children’s passport) to travel abroad (also within the EU). Entries of children in the parental passport are no longer possible.
