Thassos (Thasos) (Greek: Θάσος) is an island in the Aegean Sea that is part of the North Aegean Islands. The North Aegean Islands are a region of Greece (Europe). The capital of Thassos is Thasos (Limenas).
Thassos is a hilly island. There are mountains, rock formations and many tall forests. Thassos is considered one of the greenest islands in Greece. There are mainly pine trees on the island. Although tourism is not yet massive, one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece can be found. In total there are about 100 bays with beautiful sandy beaches.
