It has a rich cultural heritage that can be seen in its architecture like Valencia Cathedral or its many museums such as Museo de Bellas Artes de Valencia or Museo del Prado de Valencia which are both dedicated to fine art from around the world. Valencia also hosts some major annual festivals including Las Fallas which celebrates Saint Joseph’s day each March with fireworks displays and parades throughout the city streets. Seville is Spain’s fourth largest city located in Andalusia region with a population around 700 thousand people. This beautiful Spanish town is known for its Moorish influence that can be seen in its architecture such as Real Alcazar palace complex or Seville Cathedral which was built on top of an old mosque site during Spanish reconquest period. Seville also hosts some great festivals such as April Fair which features bullfighting events, flamenco performances, lots of food stalls, live music concerts etc. Other attractions include Plaza de Espana, Maria Luisa Park, Torre del Oro etc. In 2008, Spain was a member of the European Union and NATO, and had extensive relations with other countries around the world. Spain was a major player in the European Union, and its economy was one of the largest in Europe. It was also an important participant in international organizations such as the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, and the International Monetary Fund. Spain had strong ties to its former colonies in Latin America, especially Cuba, and it also maintained close relations with many Latin American countries. Its foreign policy focused on maintaining good relations with its neighbors in Europe and promoting stability in the Mediterranean region. Its military forces were active in several international peacekeeping missions around the world. In 2008, Spain was actively involved in efforts to resolve conflicts between Israel and Palestine as well as between Russia and Georgia.
