According to petwithsupplies, Ireland is a small island nation located in the North Atlantic Ocean, and it is comprised of four provinces: Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster. The largest cities in Ireland are Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford. Each city has its own unique character and history that make it an interesting place to visit or live. Dublin is the capital of Ireland and one of the largest cities on the island. It is located on the east coast of Ireland near Dublin Bay. The city has a population of over 1 million people and is home to many cultural attractions such as Trinity College, St. Stephen’s Green Park, the Guinness Brewery and Temple Bar. Dublin also serves as a major financial hub for Irish businesses as well as multinational corporations. Cork is located in County Cork on the south coast of Ireland. It has a population of around 120 thousand people and is known for its vibrant culture with numerous pubs, restaurants and music venues. Cork also boasts several historical sites such as Blarney Castle, Cobh Cathedral and Charles Fort. Galway is situated on the west coast of Ireland in Galway Bay near Lough Corrib. It has a population of around 75 thousand people and its main industries include fishing, tourism and manufacturing. Galway’s main tourist attractions include Galway Cathedral, Eyre Square Park and Kylemore Abbey. Limerick lies on the banks of River Shannon in County Limerick on the west coast of Ireland with a population just over 95 thousand people. Limerick city contains several notable landmarks such as King John’s Castle, University Concert Hall, Hunt Museum, Limerick City Gallery & Museum among many others. Waterford lies at the mouth of River Suir in County Waterford on the south east coast with an estimated population just shy of 50 thousand people. Waterford’s main attractions include Reginald’s Tower, Waterford Crystal Visitor Centre, Bishops Palace Museum & Gardens among many others. In 2008, Ireland was a member of the European Union and the Eurozone. It had a population of 4.4 million and an economy that was heavily reliant on foreign investment, particularly from the United States. The country’s main political parties were Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael, Labour, Sinn Féin and the Green Party. The government had been led by Taoiseach Bertie Ahern since 1997 and was widely seen as pro-European. Relations between Ireland and its nearest neighbour, the United Kingdom, were strong despite some tensions over Northern Ireland. In 2008, there were still concerns over the peace process in Northern Ireland after a decade of relative peace since 1998’s Good Friday Agreement. Economic relations between Ireland and Britain were also positive with both countries committed to open markets and free trade agreements with each other. However, there were still some trade disputes between them over fishing rights in Irish waters as well as beef imports from Britain into Ireland. In addition to its strong relationship with Britain, Ireland also maintained close ties to its other European neighbours such as France and Germany. This was reflected in its support for EU initiatives such as the Lisbon Treaty which it ratified in 2008. Check eningbo for Ireland in 2012.
