SUNY College of Technology at Delhi, formerly known as the State University of New York’s Delhi College of Technology, was established in 1913. It is one of the oldest educational institutions in the state. Located in the small town of Delhi, New York, it has a long and storied history that has seen it grow from a small technical school to a comprehensive college offering associate’s and bachelor’s degrees. The school began as a two-year trade school for students seeking to prepare for careers in engineering and technology-related fields. In its early years it offered only three programs: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Over the years more programs were added such as Agricultural Education, Automotive Mechanics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management.

In 1966 SUNY College of Technology at Delhi became part of the State University of New York system. In 1989 SUNY Delhi was granted permission to offer its first bachelor’s degree program—Computer Information Systems—which was followed by additional undergraduate degrees in other areas such as Business Administration and Criminal Justice Technology.
