Southwestern Adventist University is a private Seventh-day Adventist university located in Keene, Texas. It was founded in 1893 as the Keene Industrial Academy and was later reorganized as Southwestern Union College in 1915. The college operated under this name until 1982 when it was changed to Southwestern Adventist College and then to its current name in 2010. The university is affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church and offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
The university has grown over the years and now offers more than 40 majors, including business, education, nursing, religion, engineering, computer science and music. Students can also choose from over 20 minors that include art history, theatre arts and Spanish.
