Soka University of America (SUA) was founded in 2001 by Dr. Daisaku Ikeda, the founder of the Soka Gakkai International (SGI) Buddhist organization. SUA is a private, non-profit, liberal arts college located in Orange County, California. It is the first and only four-year liberal arts college in the United States affiliated with SGI. The university is dedicated to fostering individual growth and creativity while also promoting global citizenship and social responsibility. SUA has an international student body from over thirty countries around the world.
The university offers a variety of majors and minors including Japanese language and culture, social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, business administration and more.
