Siena Heights University was founded in 1919 as a women’s college by the Adrian Dominican Sisters. The original campus was located in downtown Adrian, Michigan and was known as the Adrian College of Education. The college offered four-year teacher education programs and two-year associate degrees. In 1969, the college became coeducational and changed its name to Siena Heights College. In 1996, the college added master’s degrees and became Siena Heights University. Today, Siena Heights offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees in fields such as business, education, health sciences, nursing and social work. Additionally, Siena Heights has an extensive online program for students who are unable to attend classes on campus.
