Siena Heights University was founded in 1919 as a women’s college by the Adrian Dominican Sisters. The original campus was located in downtown Adrian, Michigan and was known as the Adrian College of Education. The college offered four-year teacher education programs and two-year associate degrees. In 1969, the college became coeducational and changed its name to Siena Heights College. In 1996, the college added master’s degrees and became Siena Heights University. Today, Siena Heights offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees in fields such as business, education, health sciences, nursing and social work. Additionally, Siena Heights has an extensive online program for students who are unable to attend classes on campus. Students can choose from over 40 online degree programs that range from associate’s to doctoral degrees. The university also offers study abroad opportunities at some of its partner universities around the world as well as various internships with local businesses and organizations.
