Seattle Pacific University Acceptance Rate, Average GPA, SAT and ACT Scores

Seattle Pacific University was founded in 1891 by Free Methodists who had a vision to create a university that blended faith and learning. The university was originally called Seattle Seminary, and classes began in October of that same year. In 1914, the school changed its name to Seattle Pacific College, and the first bachelor’s degrees were awarded in 1915. Over the next several decades, the school grew steadily and added new programs of study. In 1977, Seattle Pacific College became Seattle Pacific University to reflect its status as a four-year university offering graduate degrees.

In recent years, SPU has continued to grow, adding new academic programs and facilities that enhance student life. Today, SPU offers more than 100 undergraduate majors as well as master’s degrees in business administration, education, counseling psychology and other disciplines. In addition to academics, SPU has also become known for its commitment to service through such initiatives as alternative spring break trips where students can volunteer around the world. This commitment is reflected in the university’s motto: Engaging the Culture Changing the World. See topschoolsintheusa for top high schools in North Carolina.
