The San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) is a private, nonprofit institution of higher learning that offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the visual arts. Founded in 1871, SFAI serves a diverse student body of over 600 students from around the world. In 2020, the institute received an acceptance rate of 68%. Of those accepted, about 94% were in-state residents, and 6% were international students. The average SAT score for accepted students was 1320, and the average ACT score was 28.
