Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (RFUMS) is a private university located in North Chicago, Illinois. It was founded in 1912 as the Chicago Medical School, the first medical school in Chicago. In 1913, the school was renamed to honor Rosalind Franklin, an English chemist and X-ray crystallographer who made groundbreaking contributions to the understanding of DNA structure.
Since its founding, RFUMS has grown to include several schools and colleges: the College of Health Professions; the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies; the College of Pharmacy; the Dr. William M.
