Rockford College was established in 1847 by a group of local citizens. The college was founded as a coeducational institution and has been dedicated to providing a quality education ever since. The college’s first president, Dr. George W. Northrup, was an experienced educator who had served as the president of several other colleges before coming to Rockford. He brought with him a vision for the school that focused on combining academic excellence with moral and spiritual development.
Over the years, Rockford College has grown significantly in size and stature.
