Rockford College Acceptance Rate, Average GPA, SAT and ACT Scores

Rockford College was established in 1847 by a group of local citizens. The college was founded as a coeducational institution and has been dedicated to providing a quality education ever since. The college’s first president, Dr. George W. Northrup, was an experienced educator who had served as the president of several other colleges before coming to Rockford. He brought with him a vision for the school that focused on combining academic excellence with moral and spiritual development.

Over the years, Rockford College has grown significantly in size and stature. In 1871, the college began offering courses in law and medicine, making it one of the first universities in the Midwest to offer professional degrees. In 1895, they opened their doors to African-American students, becoming one of the first integrated universities in America. During World War II, Rockford College offered courses for military personnel returning home from overseas duty as part of the GI Bill program, allowing them to pursue higher education opportunities they otherwise might not have had access to. Check Microedu for a list of community colleges in Louisiana.

In recent years, Rockford College has undergone significant expansion and modernization efforts which have included new buildings for classrooms and laboratories as well as investments in technology and student services such as counseling centers and career resources. These investments have allowed Rockford College to remain competitive among other institutions of higher learning both in Illinois and across the country while continuing its commitment to providing quality education at an affordable price point for students from all backgrounds and walks of life.
