Passport information
Generally required, must still be valid for at least 6 months upon entry.

Costs
Varies depending on visa and length of stay. Information can be obtained from the consular representations (see contact addresses). Germany and Austria tourist, business, visitor visa: €80 (stay up to 15 days, multiple entries), €155 (stay up to 3 months, multiple entries). For express issue (within 24 hours or on the same day): plus €5. Switzerland tourist visa: 80 CHF (valid for 15 days), 120 CHF (valid for 3 months). Business visa: 130 CHF (valid for 15 days), 170 CHF (valid for 3 months). For express issuance: +100% of the fees.

Validity
Different depending on the type of visa.
Transit
Transit travelers who otherwise require a visa, who continue their journey with the next plane, who have valid documents for the onward journey and who do not leave the transit area, do not need a transit visa. Consulate or consular department of the embassy (see contact addresses). Personal application is recommended.
Application required
(a) 1 application form. (b) 2 passport photos. (c) Passport valid for at least six months upon entry and containing at least one blank page. (d) Fee (cash when applying in person or by personal check). (e) Return or Onward Ticket. (f) Yellow fever vaccination certificate. Tourist trips additionally: (g) Booking confirmation from the hotel. (h) for stays longer than 60 days: police clearance certificate. Business trips additionally: (h) Letter of secondment from your own company with information about the purpose and duration of the trip and confirmation of the assumption of costs as well as a letter of invitation from the Congolese business partner. Additional visits: (i) Letter of invitation from relatives/acquaintances.

Processing time
1-2 weeks. Express issue: immediately if application is made in person, otherwise 2 days.
Documents required upon entry
Return or onward travel tickets and documents, international vaccination card with a valid yellow fever vaccination.
Entry with children
German: Machine-readable children’s passport or your own passport. Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: The same visa regulations apply to children as to their parents. Since June 27, 2012, children need their own travel document (passport / children’s passport) to travel abroad (also within the EU). Entries of children in the parental passport are no longer possible.
