Plaza College was established in 1971 as a private, two-year college in Queens, New York. It was founded by Dr. Michael Scharf and his wife, Mrs. Ruth Scharf, with the mission to provide quality education to students of all backgrounds and cultures. Through the years, Plaza College has grown in size and scope, offering degree programs in business administration, criminal justice, health care administration and more. In addition to its traditional academic offerings, Plaza College also offers accelerated degree programs for working adults through its Center for Continuing Education. The college has also expanded its reach beyond the Greater New York City area by establishing a satellite campus in Westchester County and an online campus that serves students worldwide. The college’s commitment to excellence is reflected in its accreditation from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), which it received in 2002 – a distinction that is held by only a select few colleges across the United States. Today Plaza College continues to provide students with quality education and an array of resources designed to help them succeed both academically and professionally.
