Philadelphia University was founded in 1884 as the Philadelphia Textile School. In 1954, the school changed its name to Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science and began expanding its curriculum to include business, liberal arts, and engineering programs. In 1999, the college underwent a major rebranding initiative and changed its name to Philadelphia University. The university currently offers more than 60 undergraduate and graduate degree programs across seven schools: Architecture & Design; Business; Education; Engineering & Textile; Fashion & Business; Health Sciences; Liberal Arts & Sciences.
