Pfeiffer University Acceptance Rate, Average GPA, SAT and ACT Scores

Pfeiffer University was founded in 1885 as a private Methodist college. The school was originally known as the “Otto-Pfeiffer College”, named after its first president, Dr. John Otto Pfeiffer. The school had humble beginnings, with only a few students and faculty members occupying the small campus in Misenheimer, North Carolina. In the early 1900s, the college began to grow and develop, adding more buildings and programs to its curriculum. By 1922, the college had become a four-year institution known as Pfeiffer Junior College.

In 1969, Pfeiffer Junior College became Pfeiffer College and was granted university status by the North Carolina State Board of Higher Education. This new designation allowed for expansion of academic programs including graduate studies in various disciplines such as business administration and education. During this time period, the university also saw an increase in enrollment with students from all over the country coming to study at Pfeiffer University’s main campus in Misenheimer. Check growtheology for information about American College of Cardiology.

In 1978, Pfeiffer University opened its Charlotte Campus which provided educational opportunities for adult learners who could not attend traditional classes due to family or work obligations. The Charlotte Campus offered evening classes that allowed these students to pursue their degree while maintaining their jobs or other commitments during the day. Today, both campuses offer a variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs that provide students with an excellent education that prepares them for success in their careers after graduation.
