Pennsylvania College of Art and Design Acceptance Rate, Average GPA, SAT and ACT Scores

Pennsylvania College of Art and Design (PCA&D) was founded in 1868 as the Lancaster School of Art. It was the first institution of its kind in the state and was initially located in downtown Lancaster, PA. The school moved to its current location on North Prince Street in 1896. The school underwent several name changes throughout its history, becoming the Lancaster School of Fine Arts in 1909, then the Museum School of Industrial Art in 1967, and finally Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D) in 1984.

In its early years, PCA&D focused on teaching traditional skills such as drawing, painting and sculpture. However, with changing times came a need for an expanded curriculum that could keep up with new technologies and artistic movements. In 1969, PCA&D introduced a Bachelor’s Degree program for those interested in pursuing a career in art or design. Since then, PCA&D has grown to become one of the top colleges for art and design education in the country. Today it offers more than 20 degree programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels covering a wide range of disciplines including illustration, graphic design, animation, photography and more. The college also offers workshops that allow students to explore their creativity outside the classroom setting. Check howsmb for information about TOEFL.
