The college has grown from its humble beginnings as a small liberal arts college to one of the most respected higher learning institutions in the country.

Pacific Oaks College has evolved over the years as it has responded to changing needs in the educational landscape. In 1980, Pacific Oaks College opened its first graduate school and began offering master’s degrees in counseling psychology, human development, and early childhood education. In 1991, Pacific Oaks College expanded its offerings even further with the introduction of doctoral programs in counseling psychology, human development and family studies, and early childhood education. Today, Pacific Oaks College is home to six schools: School of Education & Psychology; School of Human Development; School of Arts & Sciences; School of Health Sciences; School for Professional Studies; and Graduate Studies & Research. Each school offers a wide range of degree programs designed to meet the needs of today’s learners.
