Oregon College of Art and Craft Acceptance Rate, Average GPA, SAT and ACT Scores

Oregon College of Art and Craft (OCAC) was founded in 1907 by the Portland Society of Art, and it is the oldest arts and crafts school in the Pacific Northwest. It began as an informal art school offering classes to adults at night and on weekends. In its early years, OCAC was instrumental in establishing a strong regional identity for art and craft in Oregon. In 1939, OCAC received its first official charter from the Oregon State Board of Education, making it one of the only independent colleges of art and craft in the nation. Since then, OCAC has grown to be a leader in arts education, offering a variety of degree programs including Bachelor’s degrees in Fine Arts and Crafts as well as Master’s degrees in Applied Craft & Design.

Throughout its history, OCAC has been dedicated to teaching students how to create meaningful artwork through thoughtful practice. With an emphasis on traditional craftsmanship combined with innovative approaches to material exploration, OCAC provides students with an opportunity to develop their creative potential while learning from both faculty members and fellow students. The college also offers numerous workshops, lectures, exhibitions, residencies, community outreach opportunities and other activities that promote dialogue about art among students and faculty alike. Additionally, many alumni have gone on to become successful artists with their work being featured in galleries around the world. In this way, OCAC has had a lasting impact not only on Oregon’s vibrant artistic culture but also on contemporary art worldwide. Check dictionaryforall for information about GRE and GMAT.
