Oklahoma State University at Oklahoma City (OSU-OKC) was established in 1961 as a two-year college. It was originally known as Oklahoma State University Technical Institute, and it was the first state-supported technical school in the state of Oklahoma. The school’s mission was to provide quality education to students who wanted to pursue technical careers in fields such as engineering, manufacturing, and business. In 1965, the school’s name changed to Oklahoma State University at Oklahoma City and began offering four-year degrees in many of its technical programs.
