Ohio Northern University Acceptance Rate, Average GPA, SAT and ACT Scores

Ohio Northern University (ONU) was founded in 1871 by Henry Solomon Lehr, a Methodist preacher. The school was originally located in Ada, Ohio and known as the Northwestern Ohio Normal School. It opened its doors to students on October 9th of that year, with an enrollment of only 36. The original purpose of the school was to provide teachers with a quality education so they would be better equipped to educate the children of the area.

The school’s name changed several times over its first few decades, including becoming Ada Normal College in 1885 and then Northern Ohio College in 1909. In 1913 it became affiliated with the University of Cincinnati and adopted the name Ohio Northern University. This affiliation allowed ONU to offer more degree programs and expand its range of courses offered. As a result, enrollment increased significantly during this period, reaching a peak of 1,500 students by 1920.

The university continued to grow throughout the twentieth century with new academic programs added and new buildings constructed on campus. By 2000, there were more than 3,000 undergraduate students enrolled at ONU and over 600 graduate students attending classes at its Graduate School of Business Administration (GSBA). The university also offers degrees through its College of Law which is located in downtown Ada and accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA). Check sciencedict for information about Palermo University.
