Ohio Christian University (OCU) was founded in 1948 by a group of pastors and business leaders in Circleville, Ohio. The university was originally named Circleville Bible College, and it was established to provide a Christian education to those seeking higher learning. For the first few decades of its existence, OCU was a small college that focused on providing associate degrees in Bible studies and ministerial training.
