Oglala Lakota College was founded in 1971 by a group of tribal leaders who wanted to create a higher education institution for the Oglala Sioux Tribe. The college was established with the mission of providing quality education to Native Americans living on or near the Pine Ridge Reservation. Over the years, the college has grown and expanded its offerings to include over two dozen degree programs, from associate degrees to master’s degrees.
