In 1931, it moved to its current location in Nampa, Idaho. The school changed its name to Northwest Nazarene University in 1997 to reflect its growth and expansion into offering four-year degrees in a variety of disciplines as well as graduate programs.

The university has grown significantly since its beginning, now offering 40 undergraduate majors and 15 graduate programs across five colleges: Arts & Sciences, Business, Education, Social & Behavioral Sciences and Theology & Christian Ministries.
