Northwest Florida State College was established in 1963 as Okaloosa-Walton Junior College. The college was created by the Florida Legislature to fill a need for higher education in the Okaloosa and Walton counties. It was the first two year college in Northwest Florida and began with only 6 faculty members and an initial enrollment of 495 students. In 1965, the college moved to its current location in Niceville, FL and changed its name to Okaloosa-Walton College (OWC).

In 2006, OWC became Northwest Florida State College after receiving authorization from the state legislature to offer four year degree programs. This allowed students to earn bachelor’s degrees in fields such as business administration, early childhood education, nursing and more. Since then, NWFSC has continued to grow in size and scope and now offers over 80 degree programs across three campuses—Niceville, Fort Walton Beach, and South Walton—as well as online courses. The college also boasts an extensive Continuing Education program that provides professional development opportunities for members of the community. Today, NWFSC serves over 8,000 students each year with an emphasis on providing quality educational opportunities for all learners. Check Ehuzhou for a list of GMAT test centers in California.
