Northwest Christian University (NCU) was founded in 1895 as Eugene Divinity School by the Disciples of Christ Church. The school was established to provide a Christian education to students from all walks of life. In its early years, the school focused on providing theological training for ministers and missionaries, but soon expanded to include other disciplines such as education and business. In 1934, the school changed its name to Northwest Christian College and began offering four-year degrees in various disciplines.

In 1951, Northwest Christian College became Northwest Christian University after being granted university status by the Oregon State Board of Education. During this time, the university expanded its academic offerings to include new majors in areas such as communications, psychology and computer science. NCU also started offering several graduate programs in fields such as counseling, business administration and religious studies. In subsequent decades, NCU continued to expand its academic offerings by adding new degree programs and creating new research centers and institutes dedicated to advancing knowledge in various fields. Today, NCU offers more than 50 undergraduate majors and over 20 graduate programs for students seeking a high-quality education rooted in faith-based values. Check dictionaryforall for information about Autonomous University of Entre Rios.
