Different depending on nationality. German and Austrian entry visa (for visitors and tourists): US$88 (single entry, valid for 3 months), US$110 (multiple entries). Visa types and costs
Visitor, tourist, transit and business visa (work and temporary work).
Validity
3 months, 6 months or 12 months. However, visas that are valid for 3 months are often shortened to 4 weeks upon entry.
Transit
Transit travelers who otherwise require a visa and who fly on to the next connection within 24 hours, do not leave the transit area and can present valid travel documents for the destination country do not require a transit visa. The Embassy of Nigeria in Berlin does not accept visa applications. Applicants from Germany must submit their visa applications to Thebez Global Resources Ltd /VFS (Regus 442, 4th floor, Gontardstr. 11, 10178 Berlin, Tel: +49 (0)30 40817 26 23) or apply online. Applicants from Austria and Switzerland apply for the visa at the relevant diplomatic missions or online. Applicants applying for a Nigeria visa for the first time must come to the relevant embassy for an interview. Visa-on-arrival must first be applied for online at the Nigeria Immigration Service prior to travel.
Application required
In principle, the application form must be filled out online and printed out with “Reference Number” and “Application ID”. The visa fee must be paid online by credit card. For the subsequent visa application at the consulate, the printed payment slip “Payment Receipt Slip” (with the note “Payment Confirmed”) and the printed application slip “Acknowledgment Slip” are required. Visitor/Tourist Visa: (a) Online registration with Nigeria Immigration Service. (b) Passport valid for at least 6 months and containing at least 2 facing blank pages. (c) 2 passport photos. (d) If applicable, residence permit for Germany, Austria or Switzerland. (e) Return/onward ticket or booking confirmation. (f) Confirmation of hotel reservation, if applicable. (g) Letter of invitation from the host/friend in English, stating the guest’s name and length of stay, and “I accept full immigration responsibility”. (h) Copy of passport and, if applicable, the Host/friend’s residence or work permit. (i) Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement) for the duration of stay. (j) Copy of most recent visa. (k) Proof of visa fees paid. Payment is to be made online by credit card. (l) Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate Business Visa Additionally: (m) Company letter from business partner in Nigeria or letter from person assuming entry responsibilities. In this case, Nigerian citizens must enclose photocopies of pages 1-5 of their passport and foreign citizens must enclose a photocopy of their residence permit. More information from the embassy.
Processing time
Processing time of the embassy: At least 3-9 working days (not including the time required for the online application), possibly more than 3 weeks.
Documents required upon entry
(a) Return or onward travel tickets. (b) Sufficient funds or, if traveling on business, a letter of invitation from a Nigerian company. (c) Valid Yellow Fever Vaccination (all travelers aged 9 months and over).
Extension of stay
Possible at the Nigeria Immigration Service on site.
Entry with children
German: Machine-readable children’s passport with photograph or your own passport. Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: The same visa requirements apply to children as to their parents. Since June 27, 2012, children need their own travel document (passport / children’s passport) for trips abroad (also within the EU). Entries of children in the parental passport are no longer possible.
