Passport information
Generally required, must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the stay.
Note on the passport
(a) Desert safaris are only permitted with a guide. Further information from the local travel agencies. (b) The passport must be presented to the police in any place where overnight stays are made.

Costs
Germany, Austria tourist, business and transit visa: €61 (single entry), €100 (multiple entries). Switzerland tourist, business and transit visa: 150 CHF (single entry), 210 € (multiple entries).
Validity
Maximum 3 months from date of issue.
Transit
Transit travelers who continue their journey within 24 hours, can present valid documents for the onward journey and do not leave the transit area do not need a transit visa. [1] This transit facilitation does not apply to nationals of Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary. In this case, visa-free transit is only possible if the onward journey takes place on the same aircraft. At least 3 weeks before departure,
Application required
(a) 2-3 application forms (depending on the consulate). (b) 2-3 biometric passport photos. (c) Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the stay. (d) If applicable, residence permit for Germany, Austria or Switzerland. (e) Fee (transfer with receipt) (f) Proof of return or onward travel tickets (car travel: “Autorisation de Passage”). (g) valid yellow fever vaccination. Business trips additionally: (h) letter from your own company with information on the reason for and duration of the trip and confirmation of the assumption of costs. A stamped, registered return envelope must be enclosed with the application.
Temporary Residence
Must be applied for locally at the Home Office in Niamey before entry visa expires.
Processing time
1-2 weeks. Switzerland: 5 days.
Proof of sufficient funds
Foreigners must have sufficient funds.
Documents required upon entry
(a) Return or onward flight tickets (b) Sufficient funds for stay. (c) Valid yellow fever vaccination. It is also advisable to take several passport photos with you.
Entry with children
German: Own passport. Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: The same visa requirements apply to children as to their parents. Since June 27, 2012, children need their own travel document (passport / children’s passport) for trips abroad (also within the EU). Entries of children in the parental passport are no longer possible.
