Nichols College was founded in 1815 by Reverend Amasa Nichols, a Congregational minister. Initially known as Nichols Academy, it was one of the first coeducational schools in Massachusetts. The school was located in Dudley, Massachusetts and remained there until 1932 when it moved to its current location in Dudley Square. It has since grown to become an independent, four-year college with a liberal arts focus. The college offers more than 30 undergraduate majors and concentrations and multiple master’s degree programs.
