New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary was founded in 1917 by a group of Southern Baptist pastors and church leaders from the South. It was initially located in New Orleans, Louisiana, but moved to its current location in the Garden District of New Orleans in 1920. New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS) is a private, not-for-profit institution that offers degree programs in theological studies, biblical studies, and ministry. The seminary has an enrollment of over 2,000 students from across the United States and around the world. It is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) and approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
The seminary’s admissions process is non-selective; all applicants are considered for admission regardless of their academic background or experience.
