Neumann University was founded in 1965 by the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia and named after their founder, Saint John Neumann. Located on a beautiful suburban campus in Aston, Pennsylvania, Neumann University has grown from a small Catholic college to a comprehensive university offering more than 50 undergraduate and graduate degree programs to over 3,000 students each year. Neumann has built upon its strong Franciscan heritage to create an educational experience that is focused on service, social justice and global awareness. The university’s core values – respect for human dignity, integrity and commitment to truth – are reflected in the diverse student body and faculty.
The university’s mission is to provide students with an education that prepares them for successful careers and lives of service through academic excellence, professional preparation and spiritual growth. To accomplish this goal, the university provides rigorous academic programs that are supplemented by internships, study abroad opportunities and service learning experiences. In addition to providing quality education programs, Neumann offers a variety of extracurricular activities such as student clubs and organizations, intramural sports leagues and outdoor recreation options. These activities are designed to foster personal growth outside of the classroom as well as provide support for student success inside the classroom.
