Mount Marty College (MMC) has a rich history that dates back to the late 19th century. Founded in 1906 by Benedictine monks from Yankton, South Dakota, the college was originally known as Mount Marty Academy (MMA). It began as a small school of just ten students and three faculty members. Throughout its early years, MMA grew steadily, eventually becoming an accredited college in 1936.
Over the years, MMC has added several new programs and degrees to its curriculum. In 1965, MMC became one of the first colleges in the Midwest to offer a four-year degree program in nursing. In addition to its traditional academic offerings, MMC now offers online courses and degree programs that allow students to pursue their degrees from anywhere in the world. The college also offers continuing education classes for adults who wish to enhance their professional skills or pursue new career paths. Today, Mount Marty College is an accredited institution with more than 1,500 students enrolled each year from across the United States and around the world.
