Montserrat College of Art was founded in 1970 by a small group of artists and educators who wanted to create an institution dedicated to the visual arts. The founders, led by artist and educator Arthur Polonsky, sought to create a college that would provide students with the opportunity to learn and practice the various disciplines of visual art. Since its inception, Montserrat has grown and expanded its offerings to include degree programs in Graphic Design, Illustration, Fine Arts, Photography, Digital Media, Animation and Game Design.
