Monaco Education Facts


Monaco has the same school system as France. After the voluntary preschool, schooling is compulsory for the age groups 6 to 16 years.

The compulsory school is divided into a five-year lower stage and a four-year high school (coll├Ęge). In the last two years, students can choose theoretical or practical orientation. Tuition is free of charge.

In addition to the state schools, there are some private ones. The availability of teachers is good, and the classes are therefore small. International University of Monaco is a reputed English-language business school. Otherwise, higher education takes place mainly at French colleges and universities.
