Metropolitan State College of Denver (MSCD) was established in 1965 as the first urban, four-year college in Colorado. From its humble beginnings, with just over 100 students enrolled, MSCD has grown to serve over 21,000 students across its five campuses. In 1977, the college was accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and received university status in 2012. In the years since then, MSCD has continued to expand its academic offerings and now offers more than 130 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
